Doctorate Title: Does targeted temperature monitoring improve patient outcomes in prehospital major trauma patients?
Doctorate Description: Hypothermia is linked with increased mortality and morbidity in major trauma but there is a gap in the research to show that if by monitoring and managing patients temperature in the prehospital environment then this can be improved. This research will be conducted over 2 years and will monitor the temperature of major trauma patients seen by a HEMS service to see if improvements can be made to survivability for major trauma patients.
