Doctorate Title: Examining the impact of shift work on occupational performance, decision making, communication, and physiological stress in paramedics
Doctorate Description: This project examines how rotating shift work, and the resultant sleep loss, impact paramedics and their work. Using a simulated occupational environment, various measures are used to examine how an individual's work performance, decision making strategies, and communication change throughout a shiftwork rotation. Biological markers are used to detect shift work-related changes in physiology that underpin paramedic performance.
