Doctorate Description: This PhD research aims to: 1. Map and examine the existing literature on road crewing configurations.
2. Identify the theoretical underpinnings (through a conceptual framework) for critically analysing the performance of these road crewing configurations.
3. Use expert consensus to determine what information jurisdictional ambulance service leaders think is important to optimise crewing configurations.
4. Critically analyse the different types of road crewing configurations that exist and compare them against each other by employing observational quantitative research methods.
5. Discuss future directions for this research and assist with the translation of this research into practice through a knowledge to action framework that seeks to equip decision makers with the tools to enact meaningful change in Australian road crewing configurations.
